Vivian’s Fave Hats: U V W

This has been an amazing project. We have one more post following this one, and that will complete the alphabet.

Again, Vivian has selected some very pretty headwear for us today. There is a bonus hat too. Let’s go!

Classic Hat

This hat is stunning. The colour combination is so chic, and we love the safari vibe.

Fashion Hat

This hat was created in July 2016 and is in the top twenty all-time most popular hats. It may even be in the top ten, which is amazing. Hattingdon has 100s of hats now, so there is a lot more competition.

Bonus Hat

This hat hardly ever gets an outing and it is so darling and fun. It is goes way back to Vivian’s earliest days. It was so long ago she cannot remember the year. A good possible guess is 2010.

Vivian named the hat Vita. Vita is a feminine name derived from the Latin word meaning life. If this hat does not give you a “hatful of smiles”, nothing will.

Where does she come up with these ideas? Hattingdon looks good in green doesnt she?

See you back here tomorrow with Vivian’s final picks.

Vivian’s Fave Hats: Letter P

Hello there. Our journey through the alphabet continues. Welcome to the Letter “P”.

Vivian has selected two vintage hats this time around. Let’s go!

Classic Hat

Our first offering is a smart black and tan hat created in Hattingdon’s distinctive classic silhouette. Vivian named the design Paige.

The Paige hat features alternating stripes of black and tan and white, that partially extends to the crown, which is adorned with a coordinating button.

A very smart look. She can go just about anywhere in this hat.

Fashion Hat

This is one of Vivian’s earliest designs and an all-time favourite of hers and Hattingdon followers — a colorful mod cap she named Peggy.

The hat is made up of sections of lime green, bright orange and raspberry pink, patterned with white floral inspired shapes and rings. It has a lime green brim and capped off with a bright orange button.

Vivian adds, “I so love the shape of the hat, the design and the colorful decoration. It is bright and fun and cheery, and makes me feel happy. I had the Peggy design on a tote bag for many years, and it was absolutely amazing the attention it got.”

Flashback Bubbles

Hello.

We received emails recently asking why we have not been posting some of the earliest Hattingdon cartoons on Fridays like we used to.

We used to post them on what we called “Flashback Friday”. But there was very little traffic. We were hardly reaching anyone. Let’s see what happens today.

Do we ever have a flashback for you. This is one of the earliest Hattingdons Vivian created. She got the inspiration literally while taking a bath. The bubble bath she used at the time came in a big pink plastic bottle. And from that she created “Bubbles”.

Isn’t she sweet?

Thanks for stopping by. See you again soon.

Deidre Classic

Greetings and salutations on this Classic Hat Monday. Today we have a fabulous classic hat for you, called Deidre.

The Deidre classic hat is a black hat with a striking red hatband. The hat’s dome and brim features a line of white houndstooth on them. Coordinating red ‘nosebobs’ complete the look.

By the way, we are often asked how we came up with the word ‘nosebobs’. Easy. We modeled it on earrings being called ‘earbobs’, a term used in the Old South of the United States for earrings or eardrops.

The classic hat

The classic hat is very, very popular and has been from the day it was launched in 2009. There are still many Hattingdon fans who prefer the classic hat to any other hats that she wears. How did it come about?

After a year or two of making a wide variety of hats for Hattingdon, Vivian created a basic hat silhouette with a round dome and medium wide brim. Then she started designing for it, and it ultimately became a series with a big following. She named it the “classic hat.”

The classic hat became popular right away, and enjoys a dedicated fanbase that is still going strong today, more than a dozen years later.

Daisy Monday

Hello, and happy Monday. It is time for a classic hat, and this one . . . . is a new one. Vivian named the hat Daisy, and you are about to see why.

Daisy Hattingdon Blue.
Daisy Hattingdon Green.
Daisy Hattingdon Peach.
Daisy Hattingdon Black.

We were not too sure about the black, but it turned out lovely. The blue and green are so fresh and fun. But the peach! We are all in love with it here. How about you? Which one do you love most?
