Social Media Day 2022

National Day Calendar tells us, “With the launch of Friendster in 2002 and MySpace in 2003, social media became mainstream. Then 2004 brought the founding of the king of social media, Facebook. Twitter encouraged us to be succinct by posting our thoughts with fewer than 140 characters. When we express ourselves better through imagery, Instagram, and Flickr offer all the sharing we can handle. And speaking of video, YouTube is the social place for everything from how-to to pop culture to what not to do with your fireworks on the 4th of July.”

And there is this . . . .

“First, there was the telephone, then the fax machine, and then social media — a revolutionary way of communicating,” writes National Today. “Since its creation, people have been able to connect with each other like never before. Friends and family can connect at any moment, and marketers have been able to reach consumers in an entirely new fashion. In fact, people use social media for an average of 144 minutes every single day. Because of its impact on society over the years, Social Media Day was born on June 30, and it has continued to grow in popularity ever since.”

How about a hat?

Hattingdon does not have a social media hat, but she does have a social media scarf. Design name, Skylar.

Social media overhaul

Greetings!

My how fast things change, and how very little stays the same in that vast arena! But most of all — how time consuming. So we have made a lot of changes after having loads of meetings and considering boatloads of different ideas and opinions. Now that the dust has settled, here’s where we are . . . . and aren’t!

We are streamlining everything these days at Hattingdon® HQ. One of our latest adventures has been in the area of social media.

Twitter @hattingdon

Hattingdon was on Twitter for ages. Then she went quiet. Now she’s back. It will take a bit of time to build her following up again.

If you are on Twitter you can follow her @hattingdon. Find her tweet page at https://twitter.com/hattingdon .

If you have any ideas or suggestions (yes, we feel we can always use more) email us at hattingdon at gmail.com. Or use our Contact Form. Thank you!

— UPDATE: We lost our Twitter person during the pandemic. We will try to back there soon.

The remains of the day

Here’s the social media platforms where Hattingdon® remains:

• Instagram https://www.instagram.com/hattingdon/ @hattingdon »

• Website at https://hattingdon.com/ where there’s loads to view and do — and where all her design galleries now reside »

• Blog Hattingdon on WordPress https://hattingdon.wordpress.com/ »

• Twitter https://twitter.com/hattingdon @hattingdon »

Nixed

Hattingdon® is no longer on Facebook, Pinterest or Google+ (which is no more).

So we should be a lean, mean fighting machine ready to deliver a Hatful of Smiles™ to more people, more often, in an improved manner.

Hugs and kisses and millinery blisses.
