We are very happy to say that we now have a new Hattingdon logo, but it is not the one we originally wrote about here. As much as we loved that one, we love this one even more. Pure and simple. A single letter ‘H”, in Hattingdon’s signature brown.
Thank you everyone who has helped so much with your feedback and insight. You should start seeing it everywhere soon. — Hattingdon Horses
Greetings, and welcome. We have been dreaming of a clean, modern logo for Hattingdon Horses for a long, long time.
Up to now, we have done things like — used Hattingdon’s nose. Cute, in a way. But that was never going to be the solution long term. We tried using a classic hat. That was fine but still not what we wanted.
A few months ago Hattingdon creator Vivian took a creative marketing course. Part of it included learning how to design a logo. Frustratingly, she came up empty which meant she had unfinished business and did not complete the course.
The lady who taught the course contacted Vivian several times, and asked her if she had created a logo yet. Vivian admitted that . . . she had not. She hated even thinking about it. Her teacher said, “This is something that you can do. Try again. Don’t overthink it. Don’t try to be clever. The simpler the better. Clear your head. Look at logos you admire.”
Vivian has always admired Chanel’s logo. You know the one. Classy. Simple. Ultra chic. And at the same time gives just enough of a hint to give you a clear idea of who it represents.
Vivian opened up Photoshop and began to experiment with two juxtaposing letter “H’s” using different two different colors to create a dynamic between them. In what seemed like no time at all, here is what she had.
Thank you everyone for weighing in on Hattingdon’s new logo. We agree that a little “separation” can be a good thing.
