What happened to the Countdown?

by Hattingdon Staff

Hi there from Hattingdon & Co.

We did put the Countdown together and scheduled the posts for Monday through Friday of this week, but somewhere along the way no one hit the publish button!

We will get to it now, and stagger the posts throughout the day until we have published Monday through Thursday. We will then publish the final set of hats tomorrow, on Friday.

BUT we do have a surprise before we begin. It is a lovely, every so chic hat that Hattingdon was going to wear to the Kentucky Oaks. She was so disappointed she couldn’t go, and then forgot all about it. We did too. Do you think we are wearing our hats too tight? Hahahaha. Never mind. Look!

Lily.

See you again in a bit.

An A to Z of most popular hats

by Hattingdon Staff

A Hattingdon® fan suggested we do an A to Z of Hattingdon’s most popular hats. That’s a lot of hats for one post, so we are dividing them into groups. A thru E, F thru J. . . and so forth.

We will post the winners Monday through Friday beginning on 11th October.

We hope you are looking forward to seeing the winning hats as much as we are. We have no idea who they are. Well, except for one. Long time Hattingdon fans already know. He makes the top of all lists. And he should.

Curtis was created in Washington D.C. during the Congressional Christmas recess in December 2007. He remains the #1 selling design.

See you Monday.

Kimora

by Hattingdon Staff

Mrs Farrell, the creator of Hattingdon® Horses, has made many, many hats for the popular cartoon equines over the years — hundreds of them. Amazingly she never seems to run out of ideas. The ones that are shall we say — a bit “out there” — always seem to be her favourites. Here is an example.

At the beginning of last year, Farrell opened Photoshop, selected one of her basic templates, and began adding layers of lines and boxes and rectangles until she had what you see below.

It has a sort of Deco / Japanese flavor to it, doesn’t it?

No name immediately came to mind, so Farrell set the design aside to think about it — and promptly forgot. That was around a year and a half ago!

Mrs Farrell recently came across the design while scanning content on an old flash drive, decided to keep it and named the design Kimora. She then said, “Hey. Let’s blog this or put it on Insta and see if it flies. It’s bound to make somebody smile.”

That is what Hattingdon is all about. As our catchphrase says, “Hattingdon Horses — Bringing You a Hatful of Smiles.”

Happy National Cheeseburger Day

Yes, September 18th, National Cheeseburger Day, is nearly over, but we can still have fun. Here is the design that Hattingdon is wearing to celebrate the day. Meet Wendy.

Doesn’t Hattingdon’s hat look tasty and just right for the day?

It’s not too late to celebrate. Almost all the fast food chains are still having cheeseburger specials.

Hugs and kisses, and millinery blisses.

P.S. Can you believe our last post was in July 2020? Hopefully we will do much, much better in future.

Simone

Inspired by one of the 2020 summer season’s hottest colours, here’s Hattingdon modeling her most recent hat, done in a gloriously chic saffron yellow, embellished with hand stitching and a fashionably large all white-butterfly. Hattingdon named this new hat Simone. Enjoy!

Hugs and kisses, and millinery blisses.
