A Hattingdon® fan suggested we do an A to Z of Hattingdon’s most popular hats. That’s a lot of hats for one post, so we are dividing them into groups. A thru E, F thru J. . . and so forth.
We will post the winners Monday through Friday beginning on 11th October.
We hope you are looking forward to seeing the winning hats as much as we are. We have no idea who they are. Well, except for one. Long time Hattingdon fans already know. He makes the top of all lists. And he should.
Curtis was created in Washington D.C. during the Congressional Christmas recess in December 2007. He remains the #1 selling design.
Mrs Farrell, the creator of Hattingdon® Horses, has made many, many hats for the popular cartoon equines over the years — hundreds of them. Amazingly she never seems to run out of ideas. The ones that are shall we say — a bit “out there” — always seem to be her favourites. Here is an example.
At the beginning of last year, Farrell opened Photoshop, selected one of her basic templates, and began adding layers of lines and boxes and rectangles until she had what you see below.
It has a sort of Deco / Japanese flavor to it, doesn’t it?
No name immediately came to mind, so Farrell set the design aside to think about it — and promptly forgot. That was around a year and a half ago!
Mrs Farrell recently came across the design while scanning content on an old flash drive, decided to keep it and named the design Kimora. She then said, “Hey. Let’s blog this or put it on Insta and see if it flies. It’s bound to make somebody smile.”
That is what Hattingdon is all about. As our catchphrase says, “Hattingdon Horses — Bringing You a Hatful of Smiles.”
